Well, the semifinals went well. Despite my piss poor hitting, we crushed Gephardt. Dr Dean himself was in attendance, and boy did we put on a show for him. The final was 14-3.
Then we waited as Lieberman and Kerry went into extra innings. An then we waited some more. And some more. In the 3rd extra inning, Kerry finally won.
So, Kerry v. Dean in the final. Exactly what everyone wanted to see. We lost the toss so we hit first, promptly took a 5-0 lead.
After 2.5 innings, out lead was 13-2. Then our bats went silent. Kerry started hitting homers over the short left field porch. With Kerry down to three outs, the score was 14-12.
Well, that’s ok, we still had the lead. The curcial point occurred with two outs, and a runner on third, tying run–a big hitter–at the plate. One more out to victory. One home run away from disaster.
Home run. Left-center. Like I said, F#(&.
They won it in the next inning. BUT, after the game it turns out that Mr Home-run *wasn’t* supposed to be up! They cheated to win! Well, like I said in the last entry, “All’s Fair…”. We’ll just have to crush them in January.
