Double Take

Everything was going normally. We were doing a visibility outside the Granite State Organizing Project’s convention, where Edwards was speaking with Dean was slated to arrive in a few minutes. Then the Gov.’s van pulled and normal went right out the window. Dean hopped out and started shaking hands. Everyone is milling around in the driveway to the event, thus preventing a big, panel sound truck to pass. As the truck makes it’s way through the crowd, Gov Dean hops on the back–standing on the bumper, holding onto the side with one hand and a long external pipe with the other. Before anyone can react, the truck makes has made it through the crowd and accelerates to the parking lot! The advance team goes through three distinct phases:
1) Denial
2) Shock
3) Run after the Gov!!!
The truck turns the corner and, Edwards, who’s giving a press availability (he just finished his speech), does a double-take as he sees Dean hanging on to the back of a moving vehicle.
Priceless.
The “event within the event” was reported in the Burlington Free Press.
