Traveled to Boston/MIT for Passover Seder. Spent Sunday night in NY w/ Seth (high-scoring scrabble and “the L-word”). Got to Boston midday Monday and met up with Katherine, Yoni, and Kate for lunch and shopping. Yes, shopping, as I needed a conservative tie for my job interview on Thursday. So we went to Pink for research and Filene’s for the actual buying. It was a real life Pull Team Eye for the Data guy. Well, except for that the only thing that changed in my life was a tie–my room is still a mess.
Left the Deaniacs and visited my brother and Priya at MIT Zeta Psi. Priya was able to join us for Seder as well–the two Jon’s organized a very good one on the 9th floor of SidPac. A fun time had by all for sure, with plenty of wine to fill the requisite four cups. Afterwards, Jon and I played in a fortuitously scheduled EC softball game at 11:30pm. We beat some frat boys 10-5. Stayed the night on Dawn’s pullout couch.
Tuesday was a pretty uneventful travel day, other than an overturned tractor-trailer on the Jersey turnpike. Let me tell ya, that was a blast…Wednesday was better as I visited Beth in her new home. Her parents were there helping her move in and now I see why she always speaks the world of them (her Dad went to MIT, so that explains why he rocks). Walked around Friendship Heights, then cherry Blossoms (where we ran into Field Director Tom!), then dinner in Adams-Morgan, and finished by a competitive game of scrabble.
Thursday was the interview, which went well. Visited Eily(colleague from Gore) in her new office. Ran into Kerry’s pollster in her office, which was very fortuitous. As a result of that run-in, I have an official meeting with him on this upcoming Thursday.
Yesterday I slept in (since I had to arise at 7am on Thursday), hung out with Katie (including a round of mini-golf: I shot one over), and came home to the usual suspects where we watched “The Usual Suspects.”
