My commute, from my new place to the office, is 13 minutes–via rollerblade. This morning I tried to remember which side of the road the good sidewalk was on for future trips (there were tons of potholes and general yuckiness). The nice part is that the end of the run is over a smooth bridge, which gives me time to throw on my tie ;).
The car situation is that I’m going to get a 2004 Prius when they come out in about a month. The 2003 that I had my eye on was sold before I could make the trip to the dealer (i.e., before a weekend). Since the 2004 gets better milleage, is a little bigger, and is supposedly going to be sold for the same price, I’m just going to wait it out. (Plus it comes with bluetooth!) The forced exercise of rollerblading only reinforces my decision.
