Turns out, being a couch potato does have some consequences. After my roadtrip I spent Wednesday and Thursday at my house trying not to pull my hair out because of my parent’s 26.4 kbps connection. Friday I finally decide to leave the house–to give my car a much needed wash–and when I try to start the datamobile it almost starts up and then dies. After many nervous minutes and consulting the user’s manual in several different sections, all signs point to the cause being that my battery has discharged. After 3 days? Eh, maybe I left an internal light on.
The good news is that a standard car can jump start the Prius. I waited for my mom to get home and although a few sparks flew, the datamobile is now happily running again. Since soon after the jump-starting my fam had to go to Baltimore, I’ve still yet to wash the car.
In other news, I’ve moved in with enjanerd: somewhat becasue living with my parents was weird, and mostly because of enjanerd’s broadband Internet! After dinner with Dean folks in the District, I spent my first night at the new place watching Identity and Sneakers. Identity was reasonable; of course, Sneakers is always great (and very secure in my top 10 movies list).
